Hi! My name is Kathryn Zaremba (but you can call me Kate or even Kat!). I am an illustrator and surface designer living and working in Washington, D.C. Before moving to Washington 6 years ago, I was an assistant to designer extraordinaire Jonathan Adler in NYC. I also illustrated and designed textiles for fashion designer Rachel Antonoff. It was a TON of fun!

As a kid, I grew up on theatre sets and sound stages with a career as a child actress and singer, both in theater and television. This provided imaginary worlds for me to play, learn and discover. From New York to Los Angeles, museums, art galleries, stage sets and science museums were my learning labs, inspiring a career in the visual arts.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Art Studies from the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri where I studied fiber art, textile design, and dabbled in ceramics. I moved to New York and then decided to go to graduate school in 2009 at The Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C. to study exhibition design.

I am very conscious of how I make and print my work. All of the wallpaper and gift wrap I sell are made with FSC certified papers and printed right here in the United States as well as the UK for European orders and clients. Lessening my carbon foot print and making happy things is really really important to me so I'v found a way to create my wallpaper in the most efficient ways I can find. One of the reasons I've gone out on my own as an artist and designer is so that I can produce my work as ethically and sustainably as possible.

So thanks for stopping by and have a great time perusing the site. I update the NEWS sections with pictures, projects and local events so do make sure to check it out.
