I have been working on a series of drawings for a new shop called Fable. This gorgeous little space is located in Kansas Cities Crossroads District and is owned by the talented designer Tara Light. Ms. Light asked me to create a series of illustrations based on Aesop's fables for the grand opening of the space this May. I was so thrilled to be returning to one of my favorite cities to share new work I wanted to share it! A series of animals and objects, the scenes depicted are inspired by hundreds of curious tales that seem to have morphed, taking terrific turns, from centuries of retelling. While researching for the project I kept thinking about the game telephone.
The shop Fable carries unique handmade items from small American companies who focus on quality, sustainability, and rarity. Other artists and designers featured in the shop include Samantha Pleet, Imogene + Willie, Ilana Kohn, Feral Childe, Tara Light, among others.
If you find yourself in this delightful town then do yourself a favor and stop by to see these wonderful treasures. The drawings can also be seen and purchased on the Fable website.
